Healthy Entrepreneurs turns this vision into reality. We train local heroes – Community Health Entrepreneurs – to deliver essential medical services directly to those who need them most. By working hand in hand with governments and stakeholders, we build sustainable solutions from within the heart of the community, ensuring a seamless transition that strengthens existing healthcare systems. For many health issues and concerns there are interventions that can be done preventatively or closer to home. Forget expensive, distant clinics; together, we are transforming access to healthcare for those who need it most.
Headquartered in Uganda, but operating in seven African countries, we recognise the pivotal role that local communities play in addressing health challenges. With a belief that more than 90% of health issues can be addressed at community level, we have dedicated ourselves to building a sustainable and scalable model that integrates seamlessly into existing healthcare systems.
We offer improved livelihood opportunities for empowered Community Health Workers to provide affordable quality care to improve the health and wellbeing of underserved communities.
We are the trusted community healthcare provider. By using our unique business model and improving the existing infrastructure, we make a systematic change in the healthcare provision.
Over the past 12 years, Healthy Entrepreneurs has transformed health outcomes in rural areas through innovative solutions. From franchise pharmacies to outreach activities at health centres, we’ve refined our approach to focus on what works best: empowering Community Health Workers as the key to delivering consistent, high-quality care at scale and the lowest cost. Starting in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo, we expanded to Tanzania and Uganda in 2017, bringing impactful healthcare solutions to even more communities.
Operating in seven countries with a network of over 20,000 Community Health Entrepreneurs, Healthy Entrepreneurs reaches 18 million people in remote areas, addressing health disparities and fostering well-being. Supported by over 200 dedicated colleagues, we co-create solutions with governments and partners, leveraging data-driven systems to empower entrepreneurs in delivering essential healthcare and growing their businesses. By 2030, we aim to have expanded to 250,000 entrepreneurs, reaching over 180 million people with innovative, home-delivered health services.
Healthy Entrepreneurs combines a holistic approach to healthcare with an end-to-end supply chain, delivering affordable, reliable health products to rural families. By empowering micro-entrepreneurs as the backbone of our network, we create sustainable, community-driven health solutions while addressing the financial and organizational challenges faced by governments. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, we ensure our model is tailored to each country’s needs for maximum impact.
